Our policy on cookies.

This page gives you details about how we use cookies on the Appcrual website. If you have any questions about this policy, just get in touch – you can e-mail us at support@appcrual.com. By visiting, logging into, registering or using Appcrual website, you agree that it's okay for us to collect, use and transfer your personal data under the terms of this policy. If you're not cool with this or don't want to be bound by this policy, you can disable the cookies – see the "managing cookies" section below for details.

About cookies

Digital cookies are small files made up of bits of data, stored in your phone or computer's temporary memory when you navigate around the web. Unless you have indicated your objection, our system will issue cookies to your computer when you access, register on and log on to the Appcrual website. Cookies make it easier for you to log on to and use these sites during visits.

That cookie information helps us understand traffic patterns on our website, helps us store any preferences or passwords that you've asked us to store, and helps us understand how well our advertising is going.

How we use cookies

We use cookies for a number of things across the Appcrual website. They are constantly changing, please check back regularly to see what is changed.

Appcrual cookies

  • Logging you into Appcrual

To log you into Appcrual, we need to store a temporary cookie. This cookie will be automatically deleted after 20-minutes of inactivity, or after you log out.

  • Recognising you as a return visitor

Using analytics software and a cookie, we can tell that you've visited Appcrual before, which helps us understand what parts of the site you're coming back to see.

  • Customizing Appcrual to you

While you use Appcrual to do your books, we set a number of cookies that customize the Appcrual experience for you - for example, when you choose to show only open bills, we'll set a cookie to reflect that.

3rd Party cookies

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website across all our domains (appcrual.com and its subdomains). GA4 uses cookies to collect information about your use of our website, including pages visited, time spent, and actions taken. This information is used to compile reports and help us improve our website. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form. You can find out more about Google Analytics and how Google uses your data at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Google Analytics Privacy.

  • Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that allows us to quickly and easily update measurement codes and related code fragments on our website. GTM itself does not collect personal information, but it enables other tracking tools to function. You can learn more at Google's Privacy Policy.

  • HubSpot

We use HubSpot for marketing automation, customer relationship management, and to track user interactions with our website and emails. HubSpot uses cookies to identify returning visitors and track user behavior across our website. For more information, see HubSpot's Privacy Policy.

  • Facebook Pixel

We use Facebook Pixel as a medium to talk to customers and to measure effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. The Facebook Pixel helps us understand the actions people take on our website and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

Cross-Domain Tracking

We use cross-domain tracking to understand how users move between our marketing website (appcrual.com) and our application (subdomains like your-company.appcrual.com). This involves sharing certain cookie information between these domains to provide a seamless user experience and accurate analytics. This tracking helps us:

  • Understand the complete user journey from initial visit to account creation and usage
  • Measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts
  • Provide better customer support by understanding user behavior
  • Improve our website and application based on user interactions

Cross-domain cookies are set with the domain ".appcrual.com" to work across all our subdomains and are configured with appropriate security settings.

Personal information and cookies:

The only personal information a cookie can contain is information that you supply yourself -- a cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Your privacy and security are not compromised when you accept a cookie from the Appcrual website. You may set up your computer to reject cookies by following the relevant instructions in the "managing your cookies" section. If you switch off cookies, you may not be able to use parts of our website.

We sometimes use cookies to help personally identify you, but we do it in a secure way. Instead of storing personal data about you in a cookie, we store anonymous data on your computer, then combine that data on a secure server with any information that you've given us on the Appcrual website. For example, if you sign up for our newsletter on the Appcrual website, we'll use this combined data to customise the newsletter with information that you'll find most helpful. Further information about how we use your information is available in our Privacy Policy.
